The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act signed into law in August 2008 is the biggest single change to the United States' product safety laws to date. With it, new requirements for the levels of
Lead and or Phthalates in a variety of products has been put into effect. Some of the products include:
- Children's Metal Jewelry
- Children's Products
- Children's Care Products
- Toys
The CPSC requires mandatory third party testing of these products to be performed by an accredited laboratory following CPSC testing protocols. ESS Laboratory is a CSPC (ID #1141) and a A2LA (Cert #2864.01) accredited testing laboratory.
