Homeowners Sampling Instructions Drinking Water Analyses/Pricing All bottles, sterile cups, and vials needed for analyses are available free of charge from ESS Laboratory. Potability Package Includes the following analyses: Total Coliform, Conductivity, Turbidity, pH, Alkalinity, Hardness, Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Iron, Manganese, Sulfate, Chloride, Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, Lead, and Copper. This package requires two 1-Liter non-preserved plastic bottles and one sterile cup (cup must contain the “pill” if the water is chlorinated) Drop off for this package must be made before 10 AM, otherwise an additional fee of $50 will apply. Samples cannot be received on Fridays for this package. Volatile Organics (EPA Method 524.2) This analysis requires three preserved vials. When asking for vials, please state whether water is chlorinated or not. Flouride This analysis requires one 1-Liter non-preserved bottle. Lead (only) This analysis requires one 1-Liter preserved bottle. Lead and Copper These analyses require one 1-Liter preserved bottle. Total Coliform* This analysis requires one sterile cup (cup must contain the “pill” if the water is chlorinated). Sample Collection Fee Sample Pickup Fee *Samples that include Total Coliform will be billed an additional fee if received on a Friday or on a day before a holiday.
